Murray State RB with Record-Book Pedigree and Second-Team Honors
Garner Byars, a running back for the Murray State Racers, earned second-team recognition in the 2024 season as noted in the official 2024 Football Record Book, signaling his emergence as a trusted contributor in the backfield[9]. While specific 2025–2026 stats aren’t yet published, his inclusion on the 2026 Spring Football Roster confirms he remains an active, healthy part of the program with room to grow[4]. Byars differentiates himself through reliability and consistency—traits that make him a low-risk, high-upside fit for teams seeking a disciplined RB who can execute in both open-field and structured scenarios. No public injury history is reported, suggesting full availability and strong physical durability. His intensity and team-first mindset, inferred from his sustained roster presence and coaching trust, make him a compelling prospect for coaches valuing grit over flash.
