JaQuez Akins brings proven, high-motor production to UT Martin’s secondary
JaQuez Akins is a physical, playmaking safety/rover for UT Martin with a proven knack for stuffing the stat sheet, including 92 tackles in the 2020 season and 42 tackles with 7.0 tackles for loss and 4.0 sacks in the 2021 season. He was an All-OVC selection and has shown he can be a tone-setter near the line of scrimmage, with the kind of toughness and championship background that coaches love. If you want a defender who brings urgency, versatility, and a little bit of bad-news energy, Akins fits.
