Mitch Gilfillan brought grit, leadership, and timely shot-making to Lehigh
Mitch Gilfillan was a 5-foot-11 guard who earned Patriot League All-Rookie honors and helped Lehigh win its first league regular-season and tournament titles, capped by a 2004 NCAA Tournament berth. He stood out less for raw size than for winning traits: sharp shooting, discipline, accountability, and leadership, with Lehigh later highlighting him as a captain and team-first presence. For a team needing toughness, maturity, and a guard who understands how to fit into a winning culture, Gilfillan was the kind of connector coaches love.
