Nkem Njoku brings compact, downhill punch to The Citadel backfield
Njoku’s value has come from reliable, physical carries rather than big-volume production: in the 2021 season he appeared in all 11 games with 10 starts and rushed for 136 yards on 34 carries, after posting 151 yards and a touchdown in the spring 2020-21 season.[1] What makes him interesting is the combination of starter-level trust and short-yardage toughness, plus some passing-game utility as a receiver out of the backfield.[1] If you want a back who can handle dirty yards, stay engaged, and fit a run-first identity, he is a sensible fit; the tradeoff is that the available production profile suggests more grinder than breakaway star.[1]
