Penn’s veteran center: Bergin brings leadership, accolades, and a nasty streak in the trenches
In the 2025 season, William Bergin was Penn’s senior center and a captain, earning second-team All-Ivy honors after starting all 10 games in 2024 and helping anchor an offensive line that allowed just 15 sacks, one of the fewest totals in FCS. He also drew preseason national recognition as a third-team All-American, and Penn praised him as a mainstay up front and a blocker for star back Malachi Hosley.
