Kaylen Reed is WIU’s steady-handed, injury-tested floor general
In the 2025-26 season, Western Illinois guard Kaylen Reed has been a high-minute creator and one of the team’s primary distributors, averaging 3.5 assists per game while adding 5.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game, a nice sign of a guard who impacts winning beyond scoring. Reed’s best differentiator is poise: after a season-ending injury in 2024-25, she returned as a tougher, more mature lead guard who can organize an offense, rebound like a backcourt bouncer, and set the tone defensively.
