Jake Howard brings proven tackling volume, but FIU needs more splash-play production from its linebacker spot
Jake Howard is a linebacker with experience and a clear tackle-first profile, highlighted by 10 solo tackles on the ESPN stat line and an earlier season at Alabama State where he played in three games and logged eight tackles, including a career-high four against Alabama A&M. He looks like a steady, assignment-sound depth piece rather than a flashy disruptor, with no recorded sacks, interceptions, or forced fumbles in the available stats. If you want a dependable, physical linebacker who can help stabilize the middle, he is worth a look; if you need an instant playmaker, the upside still has to show up on Sundays.
