NIU’s all-business center who anchored a winning run
Scott Wedige was a high-floor, high-mean center for Northern Illinois, starting 28 straight games and earning first-team All-MAC honors twice plus second-team All-America recognition in 2011. In the 2011 season, he helped power NIU to an MAC title and bowl wins, and the Huskies went 22-6 with him at center during his run. The differentiator here is reliability: he “never relinquished” the starting job, improved every season, and was praised by NIU as one of its best offensive linemen in history.
