Clifton Austin brings safety speed to Savannah State, but public stat detail is thin
Clifton Austin is listed with Savannah State football at safety, and the available 2026 team data show the Tigers’ defense has been under heavy pressure early in the season, which makes reliable, rangy back-end play especially valuable. Publicly accessible stat detail on Austin is limited right now, so the best read is that he’s a fit for a team wanting a defensive back with upside rather than a fully documented stat-star. If you want a player who can help stabilize coverage, tackle in space, and grow into a bigger role, he’s worth a closer look.
