Penn State’s former hybrid defender with a blue-collar edge
Shaine Thompson’s Penn State profile shows a versatile, physical defender who was used at linebacker and even logged special offensive snaps in the 2009 season, a sign coaches valued his toughness and adaptability. He was a Bronx product from John F. Kennedy HS and earned notice as a do-it-all athlete rather than a pure stat-sheet star, which usually means the real value was in reliability, effort, and role flexibility. If you’re looking for a high-ceiling, multi-role roster fit, Thompson’s background fits that mold nicely.
