Zach Walsh brings veteran speed, contact, and versatility to Pitt’s outfield
In the 2026 season, Zach Walsh profiles as a useful, high-floor graduate-transfer outfielder for Pittsburgh: a right-handed bat with real speed, proven base-running value, and experience across multiple college stops. Pitt lists him at 5-foot-10 and credits him with 52 stolen bases in junior college, plus a .353 season at Lackawanna and 47 hits with 36 runs and 32 RBIs at UNC Greensboro, which points to a player who can impact the game without needing to hit for huge power. The upside is roster flexibility and pressure on pitchers; the question is whether his bat keeps forcing its way into the lineup.
