LSU’s former top Louisiana safety prospect who flashed early before moving on
Joel Rogers entered LSU as a highly regarded in-state safety with speed and multi-sport athleticism, and in the 2025 season he appeared in 12 games while most of his snaps came on special teams, finishing with 3 tackles. He showed enough late to earn quality safety reps in LSU’s Texas Bowl win over Baylor in the 2024 season and was viewed as a physical, high-motor depth piece rather than a headline stat producer. For a team, he looks like a competitive rotational defensive back with upside if you want toughness, special teams value, and room to grow.
