veteran Jacksonville State linebacker with long-term system familiarity
Wafford brings the value of a seasoned, multi-year **Sam linebacker** who has stayed in the same defensive ecosystem, which usually means cleaner communication, faster reaction time, and fewer assignment errors. Jacksonville State’s roster history lists him as a **2019 redshirt senior** at **5'11", 200 lbs**, after earlier seasons at safety and Sam linebacker, suggesting a player with positional versatility and a likely comfort level in run support and coverage responsibilities. Because public stat production is not available in the roster data, his appeal is less about box-score flash and more about reliability, continuity, and fit in a structured defense.[1]
