6-3 Redshirt Freshman DB with Elite Size and Honorable Mention Intensity
Jaylen Byrd stands out as a 6-3, 190-pound Redshirt Freshman Defensive Back for the Northern Colorado Bears, combining rare size for the position with the intensity that earned him an honorable mention after his 2022 season debut. Though his on-field stats are limited to one tackle against UC Davis High School in just two games, his differentiator is his physical presence and redshirt development, suggesting he is a high-upside prospect ready to contribute immediately. With no reported injury history and a reputation for flying into the endzone (as seen in highlight reels), Byrd is an ideal fit for teams seeking a big, aggressive DB who can cover deep threats and make tackles with authority. Care about him because his size and intensity offer a ceiling that raw stats haven't yet captured.
