veteran cover man with NFL-caliber size and polished cornerback instincts
Des Lawrence was a North Carolina cornerback known for his NFL-sized frame, disciplined technique, and dependable coverage skills rather than flashy ball-production. His profile points to a steady, physical defender who can match up at the line of scrimmage and stay composed in structured coverage, but he is not the kind of prospect defined by elite turnover numbers. For a team, he fits best as a reliable, scheme-aware DB who brings length, toughness, and maturity—more functional value than highlight-reel noise.
