a walk-on kicker who became a timely Clemson spark
Drew Costa’s claim to fame at Clemson was pure perseverance: after initially missing the cut, he earned a roster spot and emerged as an unlikely difference-maker for the Tigers in the 2017 season. A redshirt senior from Folly Beach, S.C., Costa’s value was less about flash and more about reliability, resilience, and keeping his game steady under pressure—exactly the kind of no-drama specialist coaches love. If you need a kicker who brings toughness, maturity, and a prove-it mentality, Costa’s story checks the right boxes.
