Abe Thompson brings veteran, physical linebacker play to ASU
Abe Thompson’s Arizona State profile points to a sturdy, versatile linebacker who has already shown production in multiple roles, including 46 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, three forced fumbles, one sack, and one interception in the 2017 season[2]. He’s the kind of defender coaches like because he plays with edge, handles position changes, and has the toughness to survive the dirty work in the box[2][3]. If a team wants a linebacker who can hit, disrupt, and adapt, Thompson’s fit looks more “steady enforcer” than “flashy highlight machine.”
