Zay Anderson brings Tennessee a long, versatile DB with real upside
Anderson arrives at Tennessee as a 2026 freshman defensive back with strong recruiting buzz: a four-star prospect and top-40 corner nationally, plus early-enrollee spring-practice reps that suggest the staff wanted him learning fast. In his 2025 high-school season, he flashed two-way juice with 713 receiving yards, 11 touchdowns, and 4 interceptions on defense, showing ball skills and competitive range. At 6-foot-0 and about 176 pounds, he looks like a developmental SEC DB with athletic upside, not just a name on the roster. If you want length, versatility, and a high-ceiling project, he’s worth the attention.
