From Wildcats Safety to Rising Coaching Star at Sioux Falls
Byron Robinson Jr., a former Abilene Christian safety who appeared in all 12 games in his senior 2019 season with 20 tackles (1.0 TFL), a forced fumble vs. Stephen F. Austin, and a pass breakup, has transitioned into coaching—most recently added as corners coach for the University of Sioux Falls in March 2026 under head coach Matt Vitzthum, after stints as a graduate assistant at Tulsa (2022) and running backs coach at Sioux Falls. His differentiator is his rapid rise and player perspective on defensive backs, bringing intensity and reliability; a smart fit for programs seeking young, energetic DB coaches with FCS playing experience.
