Luka Pintar gives San José State a valuable lefty strike-thrower with swing-and-miss upside
In the 2026 season, Luka Pintar has flashed real utility for San José State: he’s worked both out of the bullpen and in the rotation, posted a 3.00 ERA through 15.0 innings in early March, and earned a win with 4.1 effective relief innings and five strikeouts against USF. He’s a 6-foot-2, 200-pound left-hander who gives the Spartans matchup flexibility, and his best trait is the ability to miss bats while handling pressure innings. He looks like a good fit for a staff that wants a controllable, competitive southpaw who can adapt to multiple roles.
