Carson Samuels brings left-handed depth and strikeout-side upside to Dayton’s rotation mix
Samuels has emerged as a useful two-way bullpen/rotation piece for Dayton, making 22 appearances and 4 starts in his sophomore season while ranking among the Flyers’ strikeout leaders with 36 in 2026. His value is tied to being a left-handed pitcher who can provide flexible usage, which matters for matchup planning and roster balance. What makes him interesting is the workload trust: Dayton has already put him in a meaningful number of games, suggesting confidence in his competitiveness and ability to get outs in varied roles.
