Jack Malec brings size, contact pop, and timely run production for Mercyhurst
In the 2026 season, Jack Malec has been a useful middle-infield bat for Mercyhurst, posting a .333 average with an .833 OPS and a home run in limited action, after a 2025 season in which he hit .207 with 11 walks and 12 strikeouts. At 6'4", he stands out for uncommon infield size, gap power, and a patient approach that can turn lineups over. The upside is obvious: if his bat keeps trending up, he looks like a sneaky fit for a team that wants length, on-base ability, and some hidden pop.
