UNC Legend Turned Rising NCCU WRs Coach
Erik Highsmith, a standout UNC Tar Heels WR from 2009-12 ranking 6th all-time in receptions (167), tied-10th in yards (2,086), and tied-11th in TDs (15), has transitioned to coaching, leading NCCU's wide receivers in 2024 to MEAC success with two All-MEAC honorees and the Eagles' #2 passing attack (204+ ypg). His high school pedigree (top-9 nationally in a key stat) and Power 5 analyst stints at MSU and Maryland (where UMD hit 259.8 pass ypg) highlight his offensive IQ—making him a coach worth watching for developing explosive playmakers with big-play intensity.
