Jamar Buchanan brings long, rangy linebacker upside to Iowa State
Jamar Buchanan is a developmental Iowa State linebacker with the kind of frame and reach that can make him a problem in space; one recent preseason write-up highlighted his 6-foot-4 build and a high-point interception flash, a classic “ball finds him” trait. With no reliable 2026 stat line available here, the key takeaway is upside: he looks like a fit for a defense that values length, pursuit, and playmaking instincts over empty-calorie tackles. If you want a linebacker who can grow into impact snaps and has some pop as a coverage disruptor, Buchanan is worth your attention.
