7-Foot Nigerian Rebounding Machine Anchoring Montana State's Frontcourt
Usman Haruna, a towering 7-0 center from Nigeria, dominated NJCAA Division I as a Bismarck State sophomore with 11.1 rebounds, 1.9 blocks per game, 10 double-doubles, ranking 10th nationally in RPG (288 total) and 27th in BPG (50 total). Now at Montana State, his 2023-24 D1 stats show 1.2 PPG and 2.0 RPG in limited minutes, hinting at untapped potential as a rim protector and board crasher. Strengths: elite rebounding instincts, shot-blocking length, physicality. Why care? Raw upside for teams needing interior muscle; perfect fit for programs building around athletic bigs.
