Winthrop’s Low-Usage Rim Protector Still Has Room to Grow
Beckles is a **size-first center** for Winthrop whose early 2025-26 footprint is still tiny—ESPN lists him with just one appearance, 10 minutes, 1 rebound, and no points—so the real story is projection, not production yet.[1] His appeal is the classic big-man checklist: interior size, physicality, and defensive upside, plus the kind of role-player profile that can help if he becomes a reliable rebounder and shot deterrent.[1][3] Right now, he looks like a developmental fit rather than an immediate stat-sheet star, which matters most for teams looking to build depth and frontcourt size.[1][3]
