Chavez Pownell brings rangy, disciplined depth to Wyoming’s linebacker room
Chavez Pownell is a lean, experienced Wyoming linebacker who has shown production and ball skills, including 24 solo tackles and 1 interception in ESPN’s listed stats, while profile listings place him around 5-11 to 6-1 and 192-194 pounds.[3][2][7] His differentiators are coverage awareness, reliable tackling volume, and versatility from a lighter-frame linebacker profile, which can fit teams that value speed and pursuit over pure size.[3][2] The main caveat is that the public data is sparse and much of the available production appears to come from earlier seasons, so he reads more as a depth-and-scheme fit than a proven star-level centerpiece right now.[1][3]
