Productive, veteran FIU linebacker with proven backfield impact
Toronto Smith was a steady linebacker for FIU, and in the 2009 season he ranked third among returning tacklers with 50 stops while leading the team with 3.5 sacks and nine tackles for loss. That profile points to a disruptive, assignment-sound defender who can finish plays behind the line, not just pile up clean-up tackles. If you need a linebacker with proven production, toughness, and a knack for affecting the quarterback, Smith fits the bill.
