South Alabama's Under-the-Radar Reserve Guard
Daron Ray, a #22 guard for the South Alabama Jaguars, posts modest career averages of 0.6 PPG, 0.5 RPG, and 0.2 APG per ESPN stats, embodying the quintessential bench sparkplug who brings hustle and defensive intensity without dominating the stat sheet. His differentiator? Relentless energy and team-first grit that shines in limited minutes, making him a low-risk, high-upside fit for programs needing depth players who elevate rotations—perfect for mid-major or developmental roles, though pro scouts overlook his slight frame and scoring punch.
