Virginia RB with multi-position high-school toughness and upside
Barfield arrived at Virginia as a high-effort, versatile back who also played defensive back in high school, a clue to his toughness, competitiveness, and willingness to do the dirty work. Virginia’s roster listing identifies him as a running back and notes he was a three-year letterwinner and team captain at L.C. Bird, which suggests leadership and reliability more than flash. If you want a back who can add physicality, special-teams value, and a team-first edge, Barfield is the kind of player worth tracking.
