Alex Overbay’s power stuff travels, but the strike zone still owns the conversation
Alex Overbay is a 6-foot-3, 220-pound right-hander whose calling card is mid-90s velocity and a swing-and-miss slider; reports also note a cutter and changeup that add to the mix. In his 2026 college season, he struck out 43 batters and, across his recent college stops, showed real bat-missing ability, but control has been the separator—his walk rate has been a recurring issue, and his 2026 draft profile highlighted both the upside and the command question. If your team wants an energetic late-inning arm with real juice, he fits; if you need a polish-first strike thrower, buyer beware.
