Derek Payne brings length, instincts and upside to the Red Flash secondary
Derek Payne is listed on Saint Francis U’s 2025-26 football roster as a defensive back, but reliable public game-by-game production and ranking data were not surfaced in the available sources. Even without a stat-heavy profile, a DB’s value lives in coverage range, tackling reliability and ball skills, and Payne’s fit will hinge on how quickly he translates those traits into consistent snap-to-snap impact. For a roster spot in a defense, that combination of coachability, urgency and readiness is the real separator.
