UCF's Matt Sauser: Rising RHP with Electric Stuff and Big 12 Pedigree
Junior right-hander Matt Sauser has anchored UCF's rotation in 2026 with a sharp 3.06 ERA, 2-3 record, and 29 strikeouts, building on his stellar 2025 sophomore campaign (4.58 ERA, 31 K in 37.1 IP, Big 12 Co-Pitcher of the Week after a career-high 8 IP gem vs. TCU). His downhill fastball jumps at 90-91 mph with sink and spin (2,495 rpm), paired with a sharp curve and changeup, while his athletic delivery and outer-half command make him a strikeout machine. Clean fielding (1.000% in 2025) and midweek-to-weekend riser highlight his versatility—no injury red flags. A pro-ready arm with FSU pedigree; perfect fit for teams needing rotation depth and upside.
