Kansas State’s former two-way prospect is still hunting for a WR breakout
Callen Barta entered Kansas State as a highly regarded in-state athlete and switched to wide receiver in spring 2025, but he has yet to post game stats for the Wildcats. In the 2024 season, he preserved his redshirt by appearing only on kickoff coverage in the Rate Bowl, and his background as a 6-foot-1, 188-pound former defensive back gives him a physical, versatile profile with special-teams value. He was rated the No. 8 prospect in Kansas in the 2024 class, so the appeal is upside and toughness more than production right now.
