old-school, downhill linebacker who made an early impact at UAB
In his first season at UAB, Mike Tashman logged meaningful snaps right away, appearing in 10 games with 9 starts and finishing fourth on the team with 64 tackles, plus 7 tackles for loss, 2 sacks and 1 interception in the 2007 season.[1][2] What stands out most is the all-around production: he played like a physical, disruptive presence rather than a one-note tackler, and his Hoover roots plus prep-school path suggest a mature, resilient player who earned trust quickly.[1][3] If you want a linebacker who can hit, diagnose, and contribute immediately, Tashman fits the bill.[1][5]
