Xavier Farnum brings contact-first upside and steady catch-and-throw value for Southern Illinois
Farnum is a right-handed catching option who offers useful defensive reliability and a track record of offensive production, though his 2026 Southern Illinois line has been modest so far at .212/.325/.303 with 1 home run and 3 RBI. He was much more dangerous in 2025 at San Diego State, hitting .322 with a .906 OPS across 26 appearances and 16 starts, which points to real upside when his bat is locked in. At 5'10" and right-handed, he profiles as a gritty, versatile catcher who can help a team with makeup, experience, and steadiness behind the plate.[1][2][4]
