Niagara’s Workhorse RHP Gage Wheaton Is a Bat-Missing, Inning-Eating Presence
In the 2026 season, Gage Wheaton tied Niagara’s season record with 15 starts and logged 63.2 innings with 48 strikeouts, giving the Purple Eagles a durable right-hander who can take the ball every weekend and compete deep into games. His season line also shows he handled volume even while fighting through some run prevention swings, and Niagara repeatedly trusted him in key starts. The fit is clear: if you want a starter with toughness, feel for innings, and enough strikeout ability to miss bats, Wheaton brings real value.
