Big-bodied, versatile Illini tight end from the program’s earlier era
Mike Nabolotny was a 6-foot-5, 281-pound Illinois tight end/lineman who played in games from 2005-2007, including snaps at tight end in 2006 and 2007, and later moved to offensive line[1][2]. In high school, he was a captain, averaged 16 yards per catch as a tight end, and earned multiple all-area/all-state honors—signs of a physical, reliable, do-everything front-line player rather than a pure pass-catcher[1]. If a roster wants toughness, positional flexibility, and a blocker-first mentality, he fits the mold; if it wants a modern receiving mismatch at TE, that’s not really his calling card[1][2].
