Matt Sokol gives Merrimack a proven kickoff weapon with NFL pedigree and a strong leg
Matt Sokol is a **kickoff specialist** for Merrimack with clear value in field-position control: in 2021 he handled 48 kickoffs for **2,673 yards** and a **55.7-yard average**, showing the kind of leg strength that can flip hidden yards and ease pressure on the coverage team. He also brings the credibility of an NFL background, which suggests a high training standard and specialist-level polish. For a team needing consistent touchback potential, directional kicking, and a player who can handle specialist duties, Sokol looks like a practical fit with real game-management upside.
