Pernell Williams brings reliable, physical back-end defense to Coastal Carolina
Pernell Williams is a proven defensive back for Coastal Carolina whose value comes from dependable tackling, strong safety versatility, and a track record of steady production rather than flash; in the 2014 season, he played in all 15 games, started the final eight at strong safety, and finished fourth on the team with 61 tackles. That profile suggests a player who can handle assignment-heavy football, support the run, and stabilize a defense — a good fit for a team that wants toughness, consistency, and a defender who shows up in the box score and the film room.
