Zachara Perkins gives Rutgers a versatile two-way wing with serious upside
In the 2024-25 season, freshman forward Zachara Perkins was a steady rotation piece for Rutgers, starting 28 of 32 games and averaging 5.3 points and 2.5 rebounds while providing real value as a shot-blocking, switchable defender. She’s the kind of 6-foot-3 forward who can affect a game without a huge usage rate: active on defense, willing to do the dirty work, and capable of timely scoring bursts, including a 17-point, 9-rebound outing in late 2025. If you want length, effort, and positional flexibility, she’s a fit; if you need a pure primary scorer, she’s still developing.
