Brendan Cowen brings left-handed size, upside, and a clean new start at Virginia
In the 2026 season, Brendan Cowen is a 6-foot-4 lefty on Virginia’s roster who transferred in from Virginia Tech after a freshman year that was rough statistically but still flashed development potential. He allowed 5 earned runs in 4.0 innings in 2025, so the ERA was loud, but the more important context is that Virginia has already trusted him in meaningful spots and he profiles as a power-side LHP with room to grow. If your team wants a projectable arm with height, left-handedness, and a reset button in a strong pitching environment, he’s worth watching.
