Butler LB Michael Wellman brings veteran, disruptive depth to the Bulldogs
In the 2022 season, Michael Wellman played in nine games with six starts and totaled 14 tackles, including a tackle for loss, showing a steady, assignment-sound linebacker with some pop at the point of attack[2]. He also had earlier flashes, like a sack in 2021, which points to a player who can create occasional havoc rather than just clean up plays[9]. The fit is appealing if you want a physical, experienced linebacker who brings toughness, special-teams value, and reliable depth more than splashy stat lines[2][9].
