Carl Davis Brings Versatility and Edge to MVSU’s QB Room
Carl Davis is a former Prairie View A&M defender who has shown real disruption skills—posting 48 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks and 4 forced fumbles in the 2020-21 season—and his background suggests competitive toughness and playmaking instincts that can translate well if he’s being developed at quarterback. He also brings a quirky, grounded profile off the field, with teammates describing him as a “cool cat” and a stated interest in psychology, which hints at a coachable, steady personality rather than a flashy one. If you want an athlete with upside, intensity and a unique football IQ, he’s worth a look, but his listed history points to a position transition that needs context before projecting him as a polished QB.[1][3]
