Florida State’s old-school frontcourt anchor with real rim protection chops
Xavier Gibson was a physical 6-11 Florida State F/C whose value came from interior defense, rebounding, and efficient finishing; in the 2011-12 season, he averaged 6.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 0.5 blocks per game while playing 35 games, and Florida State notes he finished his Seminole career with 100 blocked shots, ranking among the program’s all-time shot-blockers. He was also described as one of the ACC’s more skilled and imposing forwards, with the ability to score facing the basket or with his back to it—a useful fit for teams that want size, toughness, and low-drama paint production.
