John Mackey brings veteran Furman trench toughness
John Mackey is listed by Furman as a defensive tackle, but the available public info does not show current 2026 game production or recent stat-leader impact, so the read here is more profile than box score. The key takeaway: he’s a Furman defensive-line name with real program continuity and the kind of interior profile that usually matters most in the dirty work—gap control, leverage, and making life miserable for run games. If you need a steady, physical DT who can anchor the middle, he looks like the type worth a closer look; if you need splashy stat-sheet fireworks, this isn’t that lane.
