Idaho’s Former Tackling Machine, Now a Veteran Presence
Fa’Avae Fa’Avae built his Idaho résumé as a high-volume, tone-setting linebacker: in the 2022 season he totaled 76 tackles and was the lone Vandal to earn preseason All-Big Sky honors, and earlier reports note he finished his Idaho career with 233 tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks, while also serving as a captain and vocal leader[2][8]. He’s the kind of defender who fits a physical, assignment-sound defense—steady, experienced, and clearly respected, with the edge and leadership coaches love.
