a veteran Marshall linebacker with proven tackle production and real defensive grit
Cortez Carter’s Marshall profile shows a dependable linebacker with a high motor: in the 2012 season he posted 36 tackles, and in 2013 he added 11 tackles with 2 tackles for loss and a sack, while his high school tape featured 118 tackles as a senior. He also earned recruiting interest from UConn, Ohio, and Temple, which speaks to his baseline athletic value. What makes him interesting is the edge—he’s been a physical, assignment-sound defender who can also affect the backfield, so he fits teams wanting toughness, experience, and no-nonsense linebacker play.
