NIU’s steady two-way guard who fills the stat sheet
In the 2025-26 season, Mary Basic looks like a reliable, high-motor guard for Northern Illinois: NIU credits her with starting all 29 games as a junior, and she ranked second on the team in minutes (31.7 per game), rebounds (133), assists (50), steals (24), and three-pointers made/attempted, which points to a versatile, do-everything backcourt presence. The key takeaway? She’s not just a scorer—she impacts winning with ball movement, activity on the glass, and defense. If you want a guard who competes hard, stays on the floor, and contributes in multiple ways, she’s a strong fit.
