Jalon Ferrell brings veteran stability and active tackling to UMass’s secondary
Ferrell is a proven, physical safety for Massachusetts who logged 17 tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss in 10 games in 2023, building on a 2022 transfer season that included 38 tackles and two passes defended; across his UMass career he has shown reliable production, downhill effort, and the kind of broad-jump explosiveness that hints at real closing burst. He looks like a fit for teams that value experience, steady run support, and a defensive back who can handle contact without getting rattled.
